How to Calculate Scores using NEET 2021 Official Answer Keys?

The moment we have finished attempting a test, we are curious to find our scores and know how we have performed. It usually takes 2-3 weeks after the conclusion of the exam for the officials to release the provisional NEET 2021 answer keys. In addition to releasing the answer keys, the OMR response sheet of each test taker is also uploaded.

For all those NEET test-takers, who wish to know how to use the NEET 2021 answer keys to calculate their tentative score, provided below are the simple steps to follow and find your tentative NEET score using the answer keys:

• Find out your question paper code and ensure to have downloaded the answer key with the same code. You can know the code; it is provided at the top of the pages of both the OMR sheet and the answer key.
• Keep ready your OMR response sheet downloaded from the official website.
• Download a copy of the provisional answer keys for NEET 2021 released by the officials for your respective code.
• Now, match your responses, tally them with the answer keys.
• Follow the NEET marking scheme explained in the table above “NEET 2021 Scheme of Marking”. Find correct and incorrect responses.
• Award marks accordingly using the formula mentioned just below the table.
• Now you have your tentative NEET score.

Note: Students, please note that the score obtained this way is just a tentative score for you to get a brief idea. These must not be taken as the final ones. Students are suggested to wait for the official declaration of the results by the NTA.

Challenging NEET 2021 Official Answer Keys – Stepwise Procedure

Once NTA releases the official set of answer keys, candidates are provided with the option of challenging answer keys in case there is any discrepancy, thereby raising an objection. To challenge, one has to pay a fee of Rs 1000 per answer. This payment can either be made through the online mode through debit or credit card or even through the net banking option.

Once the objections (if any) have been received by the official authorities, the queries are assessed for their authenticity by the subject matter experts and thoroughly reviewed. If there is an acceptance of the objection raised by candidates, the answer is hence corrected. Then the officials released the revised set of answer keys. In this event, the candidate is refunded the amount for the challenge. In the event, where the objection is not accepted, the answer keys remain unchanged, and no refund is initiated.

The stepwise procedure to challenge the NEET answer keys for 2021 is as described below:

• Visit the official website, login with your credentials provided at the time of registration
• Locate the option, “Apply for key challenge” under the Key challenge tab provided on the left-hand side
• Opt for your respective question paper code
• The screen displays 4 columns:
  • Select Question(s) to be challenged
  • Answer as per NTA
  • Suggested Answer(s) by the candidate
  • Remarks
• Pick your question to be challenged from the first column, tick the box
• Once ticked, the third column “Suggested Answer(s) by the candidate” displays 4 options
• You may pick 1 or more than one option ID provided in the columns by ticking the checkbox if it has to be challenged
• After challenging questions and selecting desired options, submit to move to the next page
• The screen displays a summary of your desired challenges
• Select the “Final submit” tab
• Make the payment as shown on the screen. Select “Go for payment”
• Choose your mode of payment and carry out the transaction, viz via Credit/Debit card/Net banking
• Rs 1000 is charged per challenge
• Once payment is successful, take a printout of the receipt
• Your fee will be refunded if your challenge is found to be correct
