International Assessments for Indian Schools (IAIS) is a leading international student assessment service that provides an objective, in-depth, external assessment of student skills in key learning areas that are important for their career growth. International Competitions and Assessments for Schools (ICAS) is better known as International Assessments for Indian Schools (IAIS) in India. It has a partnership between Macmillan Education and EEA. IAIS is not a competitive exam; it is just a diagnostic assessment which brings to light the strengths and weaknesses of a student in the four core subject areas of English, Science, Mathematics and Computer Skills. This diagnostic assessment is benchmarked against global standards of evaluation.

IAIS English Eligibility Criteria
Every Olympiad exam has some eligibility standards based on its rules and regulations. Listed below are the eligibility criteria for the IAIS English test.
- Only students who belong to participating schools can take the English exam.
- Individual participation is not allowed in the IAIS examination.
- The candidate must be from a participating school that should be affiliated with either ICSE, CBSE, or State Board.
- The candidate should be a student of Classes 3 to 12.
IAIS Registration Process
The registration process for the IAIS English examination is similar to that of other exams. One can fill out the form from the official Macmillan website. Individual participation is not permitted or encouraged by ICAS/IAIS, and students must take the exam through their schools. The steps to register for the IAIS Mathematics exam are outlined below.
For Educational Institutions

- One can find contact information for the ICAS or IAIS assessment on the Macmillan website.
- The school authority must contact them and ask for the school enrollment and student registration forms.
- One must duly fill out the school enrollment form completely, including the school name, address, and contact information.
- Schools must ensure that students are provided with a student registration form on which they can fill out the information, such as their name, class, exams, and contact information.
- After the form is filled, the schools can collect completed registration forms and collect the payments from all students, depending on the number of exams the student is taking.
- Scan the obtained documents and email Macmillan soft copies of the school and student registration forms.
- Macmillan Education India must be paid the required amount of registration fees.
For Individuals
ICAS/IAIS does not allow or encourage individual participation and requires students to take the exam through their school (if their school is registered).

Registration or Examination Fees
Each school will take a certain amount of exam fees as per decided by the conducting authority. Coordinators can collect fees based on the number of exams each student is taking and then pay the entire amount when Macmillan sends a representative to the school. The fee is non-refundable, which means that once paid, it cannot be refunded or transferred to another exam.
Syllabus
The syllabus for the exam is mainly based on the major academic boards, such as CBSE, ICSE and various state boards. The students studying in grades 3 to 12 can participate in the contest. Skills That are Assessed in IAIS English
Students read various books that narrate, depict, explain, argue, persuade, and evaluate information. Selections from picture books, novels, poems, play scripts, interview transcripts, letters, journal entries, advertising, web pages, feature articles, opinion pieces, and comics are among them. Tables, graphs, maps, and other visual information may be used in these writings, which cover a wide range of topics. - The Assessments consist of a range of multiple-choice and free-response questions.
- For the multiple-choice questions, students will have to choose the correct answer from the four possible options.
- For the free-response questions, students will have to write the answers in the boxes provided.
- Each question is worth one mark.
- The total score is the number of correct answers.
- No marks are deducted for wrong answers.
- Papers are ordered from the easiest items to the most difficult items.
- The items towards the end of the paper are designed to provide an opportunity for the ablest students to demonstrate a high level of skill.

IAIS Admit Card
Macmillan Education India distributes the admit cards for the IAIS English Exam to students through their schools. After the school has completed its registration process and paid the registration fees to Macmillan Education, admit cards are issued to the students.
After the registration process is completed, admit cards/hall tickets will be delivered to the institutions/schools within three weeks. One must complete the registration process well in advance of the exam date.

The IAIS admit card contains the following information.
- Student’s name
- Class and section of the student
- School name
- Registration number/Roll Number
- Exam date and time
- Name of the exam
- School and city
Note
After receiving their admit cards from the school authority, students must inspect them for any discrepancies. Students are asked to contact their school coordinator and request that the error be corrected or that a new admit card be issued if there is an error or the student loses their admit card. Students must bring a hard copy of their IAIS English admit card, as well as their school ID card, to the examination hall for verification. Students who do not have an admit card will not be able to take the exam.
IAIS English Admit Card Instructions
Students should follow the following instructions after receiving their International Assessment for Indian Schools admit card:
- Students must arrive 30 minutes before their scheduled exams at their allocated exam centres.
- Students are allowed to enter the exam hall 15 minutes before the start of the exam to complete the basic information on OMR sheets.
- Students will not be allowed inside the exam room until 10 minutes after the exam has started.
- There will be no additional time allowed for students to complete the exam.
- Only when the exam is completed students are allowed to leave the exam centre.

IAIS English Result

- Fill up the required information. The school must input the 8-digit school code and password to access online reporting.
- Candidates must input their 10-digit TAP-ID and PIN during student registration to view online reports.

The Result is Given in Two Reports
