Smiles Foundation

Mumbai-based Smiles Foundation was started by a group of women with a goal to uplift women and children with educational, health, and vocational skills. Since its inception, the Smiles Foundation has been on its toes to ensure the safety and well-being of the most vulnerable sections of society during the pandemic. Through their initiatives, they’ve reached out to Zilla Parishad Schools, self-help groups (SHGs), postal departments, children of people impacted by COVID-19, etc.

Education support to Rural Part of Tamil Nadu & AP by giving training to the teachers so that they can make their classes more interesting. Mainly focuses on setting up schools in rural india as well as looks to support existing government schools with quality education.

Sahadeva Foundation (Harsh Singh)

Harsh Singh, a B.Tech Student from Dhanbad, has been ensuring that the coal miner's children are not deprived of food and education. He started the Sahadeva Foundation in order to help these children, and show them the way to a better future. 'Labour is no feat for children. The only thing they need to be working on is their future', Harsh believes.

Similar was the situation of Ketan Deshpande, the Founder of the NGO, Friends Union for Energising Lives (FUEL), and his friends who had little to no support back when they were still in school. FUEL is on a mission to provide the youth with access to essential information about career opportunities.

Yuva Unstoppable

Delhi, Rajasthan, Gujarat, & Maharashtra

Helps in School transformation which includes sanitation (separate toilets for boys and girls), improvement in access to water (separate drinking and dishwashing areas), educational painting, Smart/Google Classrooms, tablets, nutrition and immunity booster kits, Behaviour Change Communication (BCC), among others. Yuva Unstoppable also provides scholarships for Higher education to these children along with a platform to interact with prominent personalities from various fields for career counselling.

Little Umbrella Foundation

Little Umbrella Foundation helps children with holistic development through alternative education, that is, education through creative media like art, dance, music, film-making etc.The goal is to ensure that the children not only become literate but are given a holistic learning environment.

Bal Utsav

Provides Basic facilities at government Schools. Bal Utsav’s programmes are designed to repair, build and maintain the school infrastructure. It also focuses on enhancing the teaching ability of the faculty in these schools. The schools are equipped with WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) facilities to make sure that the bathrooms have access to clean water, privacy and hygiene practices. The organisation also facilitates scholarships for students.

Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled

Samarthanam supports the visually impaired, and other Persons with Disabilities, in addition to the socially and economically challenged children, to pursue their education. It also trains youngsters in sports like cricket wall climbing, adventure sports, athletics and throwing events. Focuses on providing assistive technology.

BYJU’S joined hands with Save the Children to positively impact their mission of supporting children with access to digital learning.

Project App Vidya (Arhan Chhabra)

Arhan Chhabra is a 16-year-old envisions to tap into the potential of learners in remote locations with the power of online learning through his initiative, Project App Vidya. Arhan collaborated with BYJU’S and Community Aid and Sponsorship Programme (CASP), Raigad to provide tablets, educational material, and access to educational experts without requiring a steady internet connection.

Vahdam

VAHDAM Teach India initiative is geared towards bringing the children of the tea plantation workers in Darjeeling, who had no access to digital learning during the pandemic, up to speed with the right infrastructure and guidance. Works with Tribal Workers, Providing Digital Education to Workers at Tea Garden.

Founded by Devendra Kumar, Ladli Foundation is a Delhi-based non-profit organisation that implements impactful social initiatives to uplift urban and rural slums. It is actively working at the national level in association with district administrations and police departments with its effective community outreach and sustainable approach.
