RBI Grade B Eligibility Criteria

The RBI Grade B Eligibility Criteria, which is set by the Reserve Bank of India, is as follows:

RBI Grade B Eligibility | Nationality

According to the RBI Grade B Eligibility criteria set by the RB, the candidate must either be:

  • A Citizen of India
  • A subject of Nepal/Bhutan
  • A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India.
  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Burma, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, East African countries of the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Kenya, Uganda, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

RBI Grade B Eligibility | Educational Qualifications

Candidates applying for the RBI Grade B exam must note that the RBI has laid down several educational criteria for its recruitment process. Candidates must have at least minimum education qualifications, as indicated in the table below from a recognized university board.

As per the RBI Grade B Eligibility criteria decided by the RBI, those who are awaiting the final results of the prescribed educational qualification cannot apply for any of the posts.

A Master’s Degree in Mathematical Economics / Integrated Economics Course/ Finance / Economics / Econometrics / Quantitative Economics, with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters /years from a recognized Indian or Foreign University /Institute.

Grade ‘B’ (DR) –

DSIM

  1. A Master’s Degree in Statistics/ Mathematical Statistics/ Mathematical Economics/ Econometrics/ Statistics & Informatics from IIT-Kharagpur/ Applied Statistics & Informatics from IIT-Bombay with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years; OR
  2. Master’s Degree in Mathematics with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years and a one-year postgraduate diploma in Statistics or related subjects from an institute of repute; OR
  3. M. Stat. degree of Indian Statistical Institute with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate of all semesters/years OR
  4. Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) jointly offered by ISI Kolkata, IIT Kharagpur and IIM Calcutta with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years.
