CBSE conducts compartment exam for students who could not pass in one or two subjects in class 10 or 12 board exams. The board give 3 chances to such students to clear the CBSE Compartment Exam. CBSE Board has announced the result for class 12 students on 13th July 2020. Those students who were unable to obtain qualifying marks in one or have not appeared for the exam in any one subject have been placed in compartment category. CBSE Compartment Exam Application Form 2020

Regular students who want to appear in the compartment exam need to visit their respective school for the process compartment exam. Private students will have to apply via an online process where students who dropped a year will have to go through the List of Candidates (LOC). The School Admin will fill CBSE Compartment Exam application forms on the official website. CBSE will soon start the application process for the 2020 compartment exam. Students can apply at the CBSE website (www.cbseonline.ernet.in) by entering the admit card information. They can also get their application form from their school administration. 

Usually, CBSE conducts the compartment exam in the month of July. In 2019, CBSE compartmental exam for Class 10th and 12th was conducted from 2nd July across the centres. This years, the exam are expected to be conduct little late due to COVID-19 pandemic. The online application for compartment exam are expected to start from 12th June 2020.

CBSE Optional Exam 2020 Details

CBSE will conduct the optional examination 2020 for the students whose results have been declared based on the assessment scheme, in subjects whose examination were scheduled to be conducted from 1st July to 15th July 2020. Students are allowed to appear in these optional examinations to improve their performance if they wish so. Marks obtained by students in optional examinations 2020 will be treated as final.

Students who have applied for improvement of performance, 2nd chance compartment and for an additional subject in 2020, their examination could not be conducted. The dates of the conduct of examination will be informed soon in consultation with the Government of India.

CBSE Compartment Exam 2020 Eligibility Criteria

  • A student can appear 3 times for a compartment exam in a continuous session.
  • Students can only appear in those subjects in which he/she got compartment. No other subjects will be entertained by the board.
  • Syllabus for the exam will remain the same.
  • If students have passed the practical exam of a certain subject, he or she will only have to go through the written compartment exam. But students failing both in the practical and written exam will have to give compartment exams for both.

CBSE has not yet released the exam admit card for compartment exam 2020. However, it is expected that the admit card will be available from 5th July 2020. Private candidates can download the CBSE Compartment Admit Card 2020 for Class 10 and class 12 from the CBSE board’s website www.cbse.nic.in.  Meanwhile, regular students of class 10 and 12 can collect their CBSE Admit Cards for the year 2020 from their respective institutes/schools.
