Chemistry Worksheets Class 10 on Chapter 3 Metals and Non-metals with Answers - Set 3

All elements found on Earth have been properly arranged in a periodic table based on their increasing atomic numbers. Based on their physical and chemical properties, these elements are divided into three groups: metalloids, metals, and non-metals.

Metals are elements that donate electrons to form bonds in order to form electropositive ions. Metals are classified into three groups in the periodic table: alkali metals, alkaline earth metals, and transition metals. The element loses one, two, or more electrons to form positive ions, depending on the group in which it is found.

Non-metals are elements with partially filled electron shells in their outermost shell. These elements tend to attract electrons from neighbouring atoms and form anions due to the presence of a large number of valence electrons. Nonmetals are thus electronegative elements.
