Documents required for IAS interview/What documents required for IAS application?
Unlike the UPSC Prelims and Main exams that are conducted in various UPSC Examination Centres in different cities, the Civil Services (Main) Exam Personality Test/ interview is conducted at the Union Public Service Commission’s Office in New Delhi (Dholpur House). This would be a face to face round with the UPSC Board Members.
The final stage of the UPSC CSE exam is the Interview/ Personality Test. Here we bring a checklist of documents that the candidates should carry with them and keep ready with them before facing the interview.
After hard work for a whole year in the preparation of UPSC Exam, candidates who have made to this milestone called personality test and which would be a crucial day for the aspirants especially for them who are attending the interview and facing the UPSC Board members for the first time, we bring this checklist to avoid any last-minute hustle and to ensure that they have all the necessary documents ready, which are required by the commission.
List of Documents candidates should carry while attending the interview
Below listed out are a few documents that are required to produce during the board interview.
- Original certificate of Matriculation or equivalent to verify the Name and Date of Birth
- Original self-attested photocopy of the matriculation or equivalent certificate to verify the Name and Date of Birth
- Original degree certificate as proof of education qualification ( if original degree certificates have not been issued it is advised to carry provision certificates and/or mark-sheet)
- Self-attested photocopy of Degree certificates in original Mark-sheets of Degree in Original (Not mandatory but advised to candidates to carry along with them)
- Recent, 2 Passport Size photographs with one self-attested.
- Print-out of the e-Summon Letter
Additional documents to produce along with the above mentioned
docs for SC/ST Category Candidates
- Case/Tribe Certificate in original as well as photocopy
- Certificates in support of age relaxation
- PG Degree or Higher Education certificates and mark-sheets (advised to carry both original and photocopy)
- TA Form – two copies plus proof of journey (for outstation candidates)
- Affidavit (in case of minor name discrepancies)
Additional documents to produce along with the above mentioned
docs for PH Category Candidates
- Original and photocopy of Physical Disabilities Certificate, while PH-1 (LDCP) candidates should carry DWE certificate
- Certificates in support of age relaxation
- PG Degree or Higher Education certificates and mark-sheets (advised to carry both original and photocopy)
- TA Form – two copies plus proof of journey (for outstation candidates)
- Affidavit (in case of minor name discrepancies)
Requisite Documents for Medical Examination
- Recent, 8-10 Passport size photographs of the candidate
- Advised to carry prescriptions or medical certificates if any which would be helpful for eye check-up
NB (Notified Body): Candidates should ensure that they get the relieving letter from the concerned authorities after the medical exam.
Documents required to send to the Department of Personnel and Training
(DoPT)
A duly filled copy of the attestation form along with 6 copies of the same, each signed by the candidate on it. Also, candidates should affix a recent passport size photograph with their signature on the form.
Note:
Generally, medical checkup happens on the next working day i.e. after the interview. In case if a candidate’s interview is scheduled on Friday then the medical check-up would happen on Monday, which is the next working day. So, candidates should be prepared to stay.
