  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a program commemorating the 200th birth anniversary of Swami Dayananda Saraswati.

2. Over 2,500 school and college students participate at LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment) themed exhibition and activities at India Gate

Event Overview:

  • A two-day national exhibition and program focused on environment-friendly activities was held on 9th and 10th February at India Gate, Delhi.
  • Over 2,500 students from 60 institutions participated, along with more than 3,000 visitors over the two days.

Mission LiFE :

  • LiFE, introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at COP26, aims to promote mindful and deliberate utilization to protect the environment.
  • It encourages a lifestyle synchronous with nature and seeks to translate this vision into measurable impact through initiatives like the national exhibition.

Creative Expressions and Competitions:

  • School children participated in on-the-spot face painting and poster making competitions, expressing their views on environmental consciousness.
  • Themes included adopting a healthy lifestyle, optimizing electric appliance usage, and enhancing flora and fauna through tree planting.

Exhibition of LiFE Themed Products:

  • Non-government organizations and EIACP(Environment Information Awareness, Capacity Building and Livelihood Programme) centers from across India displayed environment-friendly products, showcasing the outcomes of the green skill development program.
  • Products ranged from millets-based foods and organic honey to utility items made from non-timber forest produce and portable solar panels.

Recognition and Awards:

  • Participants received awards from Ms. Nameeta Prasad, Joint Secretary, MoEF&CC, acknowledging their outstanding contributions to LiFE themes and environmental consciousness.
