APPSC Group 1 exam is conducted in 3 phases i.e. Prelims or Screening Test, Mains exam and Interview. Details of the the three phases of the exam are given below:
Phase I- Screening Test
The screening test comprises two papers i.e. Paper I and Paper II. Both the papers are of 120 marks each and there is a penalty of 1/3rd of the marks prescribed for the question.The scheme of the exam is given below:

Phase II- Mains written exam
In the Mains exam, candidates have to attempt seven papers of which two are of qualifying nature (Telugu and English).

The minimum marks required to clear the qualifying paper i.e. Telugu and English are given below. Marks of these two papers are not added to the aggregate of the remaining 5 papers.

Phase 3- Interview
Total marks allotted for personality test or interview is 75.
Henceforth, there will be no interviews for any examination conducted by APPSC. Therefore, preparing effectively for the Mains examination from now on becomes much more important. Prelims and Mains cut-off for APPSC Group-I exam (2022-2023)
Prelims cut-off is generally published along with the result. The APPSC 2022 prelims examination was last held on 8th January, 2023. The Prelims result was declared on 27th January 2023.

The Mains exam is scheduled to be conducted from April 23rd to April 29th 2023. The cut-off marks for the Mains examination will be released after the exams.
