Bihar STET Eligibility Criteria 2023

Overview of the Bihar STET Exam Pattern
Bihar STET comprises Paper 1 and Paper 2. Candidates who have applied to teach Secondary (9-10) classes have to attempt Paper I, whereas those who wish to teach Senior Secondary (11-12) classes have to appear for Paper 2. More details about the exam pattern are given below.

Points to Remember: Bihar STET Paper 1
- One mark will be given for each question.
- There is no negative marking for wrong answers.
- Paper-I is of objective type, which will contain multiple choice questions (MCQs).Â

Points to Remember: Bihar STET Paper 2
- Every question will carry 1 mark.
- There is no negative marking for wrong answers.
- There will be Multiple-choice questions in Paper II, which is an objective exam.
- Each MCQ will have 4 options and candidates need to choose the right answer from the options.
- Paper 2 consists of 150 questions, which has to be solved in a duration of 2 hours 30 minutes.

How to Apply for the Bihar STET?
Candidates who wish to appear for the Bihar STET can refer to the following steps given below.
- Visit the official website.
- On the homepage, new candidates should click on ‘Register’. Then candidates should select the post for which they wish to apply i.e. Secondary school teacher (Paper 1) or Senior Secondary School teacher (Paper 2).Â
- After selecting the post, candidates should fill in the necessary information, which includes the name of the candidate, gender, mobile number, email address etc.
- After providing the necessary information candidates should click on ‘Submit and Continue’.
- After completing the registration process, candidates will receive a User ID and Password on their registered email ID and mobile number.Â
- Candidates should use the User ID and Password to login again and apply for the exam.
- Applicants should upload their scanned photograph and signature as per the instructions given in the official notification.
- Now candidates should pay the application fee online.
- After submitting the application, the system will generate a ‘Registration Slip’. Candidates should click on ‘Print Registration Slip’ and take a print out of the slip.
Before submitting the application, applicants should verify all the information given in the online application form.

Bihar STET Merit List and Certificate
- A merit list is prepared by the Bihar State Exam Board (BSEB) in the order of rank/marks scored by candidates based on the total number of vacancies notified by the Board. The names of only those candidates who score the minimum qualifying marks will be considered to be included in the merit list.
- Bihar State Exam Board (BSEB) will issue the Pass or Qualifying Certificate to eligible candidates after preparing the subject-wise and category-wise merit list based on the total number of vacancies.Â
- The Bihar STET pass/qualifying certificate is valid for a maximum period of 7 years (as per the Bihar STET 2019 official notification) and eligible candidates can be selected for the notified posts accordingly. However, the validity of the qualifying certificate is subject to the upper age limit criteria laid down by the Bihar State Exam Board (BSEB).
