The Consortium of National Law Universities has not prescribed any upper age limit for CLAT 2025 or minimum age limit for CLAT exam for undergraduate as well as postgraduate law courses.

CLAT Age Limit for 2025 Undergraduate (UG) Law Programme
There is no upper age limit prescribed for candidates appearing for UG CLAT 2025. Some of the important eligibility criteria prescribed by the Consortium of National Law Universities are given below.
- Candidates who belong to the General, OBC, PWD, NRI, PIO and OCI categories should score a minimum of 45% marks or its equivalent grade in 10+2 or its equivalent examination.
- Candidates who belong to the SC and ST categories should obtain a minimum score of 40% marks or its equivalent grade in 10+2 or its equivalent examination.
- Candidates who plan to appear in the 10+2 or its equivalent examination in March/April, 2024 are eligible to apply for CLAT 2025 exam.
Important points about CLAT exam age limit for 2025 academic year:
- The result of the qualifying examination (i.e., 10+2) shall be submitted by the candidate at the time of admission, failing which the candidate shall be ineligible for admission to the course they may have applied for.
- If more than one candidate secures an equal number of marks to be held in December for CLAT 2025, the break of tie shall be by the following procedure and order:
- Higher marks in the component/section on Legal Aptitude in the CLAT 2025 exam;
- Higher age;
- Computerised draw of lots.
Age Limit for CLAT 2025 Postgraduate (PG) Law Programme
The Consortium that organises the CLAT examination has not prescribed an upper age limit for candidates appearing for PG CLAT 2024-25. Some of the other eligibility criteria prescribed by the Consortium of National Law Universities are given below.
- Candidates who plan to appear in the LLB degree or its equivalent exam in April/May 2025 are eligible to apply for CLAT 2025 examination.
- Candidates who belong to the General, OBC, PWD, NRI, PIO and OCI categories should score a minimum of 50% marks or its equivalent grade in LLB or its equivalent examination.
- Candidates who belong to the SC and ST categories should obtain a minimum score of 45% marks or its equivalent grade in LLB or its equivalent examination.
Tie Breaker Rule: In case of equal marks, the break of tie shall be by the following procedure and order:
i. Higher age;
ii. Computerised draw of lots.
CLAT Eligibility for Foreign Nationals
For NRI/NRI Sponsored/Foreign National seats, the applicants are advised to refer to the e-brochures as well as the websites of the respective NLUs for more details.
All NRI Category candidates have to appear for the CLAT 2025 examination for those NLUs where such category is admitted through CLAT 2024 rankings and not admitted directly by the concerned Universities. For admission in these categories, candidates will need to apply directly to the concerned NLU in addition to appearing for the CLAT exam.
