The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2022 will be held on May 8, 2022. The CLAT eligibility criteria for various categories is given in the tables below.
The application window to apply for the CLAT 2022 undergraduate and postgraduate law programmes opened on January 1, 2022. The application window for CLAT 2022 will close on March 31, 2022 at 11.59 PM. Candidates should ensure that they apply for the examination and pay the fee much before the closing date.

Eligibility Criteria for CLAT 2022 Exam
Eligibility criteria for CLAT 2022 examination for undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law programmes is given below. There is no upper age limit for candidates who want to appear for CLAT 2022 examination for both the UG and PG law programmes. Candidates should go through the eligibility criteria carefully and then apply for the courses.
Eligibility Criteria for CLAT 2022 Undergraduate Law Programme
- Age Limit
- Minimum percentage of marks in the qualifying examination (10+2 or its equivalent)
- Candidates who are going to appear in the qualifying exam (10+2 or its equivalent) in March/April, 2022 can apply for CLAT 2022 exam. However, they should produce evidence of their passing the qualifying examination at the time of admission.
- Candidates should submit their results (i.e., 10+2 or its equivalent) at the time of admission. If candidates do not submit their results when required, they will become ineligible for admission.
There is no upper age limit for candidates applying for UG-CLAT 2022 examination.
Applicants should have secured a minimum percentage of marks given below in 10+2 or its equivalent examination. Category-wise minimum percentage of marks required to apply for the exam are given in the table below.

If candidates score equal marks in the CLAT examination, then in order to break the tie, the procedure and order given below will be followed.
i. Higher marks scored in the section on legal aptitude in the CLAT 2022 exam

Eligibility Criteria for CLAT 2022 Postgraduate Law Programme
- Candidates who plan to appear in the qualifying examination (LLB degree or its equivalent exam) in April/May 2022 are eligible to apply for CLAT 2022 examination.

The Consortium has not prescribed any upper age limit to appear in the CLAT 2022 exam.
If candidates score equal marks in CLAT 2022, the break of tie will take place by following the procedure and order mentioned below:
i. Higher age
ii. Computerised draw of lots
