West Bengal Board Syllabus

Introduction

Education in the state of West Bengal is provided by both the public sector and the private sector. Under the public sector, the education system follows the pattern of 10+2, where, higher secondary education (class 10) falls under the purview of West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBSSE). Right after class 10, students are enrolled in a pre-university with courses lasting a duration of two years. Class 11 and 12 falls under the purview of West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE).

WBSSE Syllabus

As stated before, secondary education in the state of West Bengal falls under the purview of West Bengal Board of Secondary Education. It was established in 1951 under the West Bengal Secondary Education Act of 1950. The primary role of the organization is to organize and provide secondary education in the state – up to class 10 and then administer the board exams for the same. WBCHSE Syllabus

After class 10, students seek admissions to pre-university courses that have a duration of 2 years. Here, the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education is responsible for organising and administering the board exams. Established in 1975 through the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education, Act 1975, WBCHSE and caters to the educational requirements of the state.
