About West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE)

The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) was established in 1975 to monitor the education system for Classes 11 and 12. The board is responsible for conducting the examination for Class 12. In addition to this, the board also sets the syllabus, publishes textbooks, provides regulations, evaluates exams and announces results.

Functions of the West Bengal Class 12 Board

The WBCHSE undertakes multiple functions like – promotion, development, regulation of higher secondary education in the state of West Bengal.  It also inspects the institutes under the board on a regular basis to ensure students receive good quality education. Additionally, it also devises the curriculum, syllabus, publishes textbooks, model question papers etc for Class 11 and 12.
