What is the point of releasing the answer key? The main aim is to help candidates know the correct answers to the JEE Advanced exam paper. Candidate can seemingly check and compare their answers whether they have selected the right option or not. Further, they can also calculate a tentative score that they are likely to achieve in the exam. In essence, it helps in the prediction of the candidates’ scores.

In addition to releasing the answer keys, the exam conducting body also provides an opportunity to raise objections regarding the answers. Candidates who feel that the answers are incorrect or that the wrong option was selected as the right key then candidates can give their feedback on the answer key. They can challenge the authorities. Normally, a 24-hour window is allotted wherein candidates have to submit their queries. They also have to pay some amount as processing fee while submitting their requests. A panel will look into the matter and the objections will be carefully examined after which they will give the final verdict.

Important Things To Keep In Mind Before Raising A Challenge

Candidates have to keep few things in mind before they submit their queries;

  • A challenge should be raised only if they are absolutely sure that there are discrepancies in the answer.
  • Candidates can raise more than one challenge.
  • If candidates have a valid point then they are awarded the score and the fee is also refunded.
  • Challenge the question for being out of syllabus is usually not considered.
  • If the answer key changes, it changes for everyone.
