JEE Mains Application Form

JEE Mains is the 1st stage of JEE and is organized by CBSE every year. The students are offered admissions into various undergraduate courses offered at NITs, IIITs, GFTIs on the basis of scores obtained in the examination. Due to the vastness of syllabus and the level of competition, it is considered as one of the toughest competitive examinations at the undergraduate level. It is also a qualifying exam for students focussing on JEE Advanced 2018.

The JEE Mains application form 2018 will be released by CBSE in the month of December 2017. There is only the online mode of option available for filling the application form. From the year 2017, the Aadhaar card has been made mandatory for all the students appearing for the examination. Before filling the JEE Mains form 2018, the students must go through the eligibility criteria defined by the CBSE. As per the CBSE guidelines, only one application form per student would be accepted. The Registration would be canceled if more than one JEE Mains application form is submitted per student.

JEE Mains Application Form 2018: Important Dates

The important dates for JEE Mains form 2018 are announced by CBSE. The exam will be conducted on 8th April (Offline Exam) and 15th and 16th April (Online Exam) 2018. The students can also check other important dates related to the examination from the table mentioned below:

Documents required for filling JEE Mains Application Form 2018:

  • 10th class documents.
  • 12th class documents.
  • Aadhaar card details.
  • Scanned copies of signature and passport sized photograph.
  • Phone number and a valid email ID.
  • Debit card, Credit card or e-Challan details.
  • Bank account number, Ration card number, Passport number, Voter ID card etc.

Steps to be followed while filling the JEE Mains Form 2018:

The JEE Mains application form 2018 could be filled online from 1st week of December 2017. The following steps should be followed for successfully filling and submitting the application form 2018:

Step 1: JEE Mains Registration

The link of JEE Mains 2018 registration page would be available as soon as the registration window gets activated. On the registration page of JEE Mains 2018, the following details of the applicant must be entered carefully:

Nationality, Identification type, State, Name of the Student, Date of Birth and gender of the applicant. After filling all the above-mentioned details, enter the security pin and click on the submit button.

Step 2: Filling of JEE Mains Application Form 2018

After successful registration, the students will be redirected to the JEE Mains application page where the following details have to be entered:

Exam related details:

  • In this section, the information related to the medium of question paper, mode of examination and the course for which they are applying for are to be provided.
  • Students appearing for offline mode of examination could opt for 4 centers according to their preferences whereas for appearing in the online mode of examination the applicant could opt for only one center.

Personal Details of Applicant:

  • In this section, personal information like parents name, name, nationality, state of eligibility, date of birth, category, gender, etc.
  • It is mandatory for candidates to enter their Aadhaar number, place of residence and mailing address.

Academic Details:

  • In this section, all the details related to the qualifying examination like their school name, school address, class 10th & class 12th passing year, etc.
  • Students appearing for the 12th class board exams in the year 2018 also have to enter the details of their qualifying examination.

Adress Details of the Applicants:

  • In this section, applicants need to provide their complete address like mobile number,  pin code, state, country, email address, etc.

Guardian Details:

  • In this section, all the details of their Guardians and parents like occupation, qualification, annual income details, etc.

Password Creation: Before submitting the JEE Mains form 2018 the students need to set a password which would be required in future for further signing in. The students also need to remember their answers to security questions which would be helpful in recovering their password in case if they forget it.

Step 3: Uploading of Scanned documents

The Applicants need to upload the scanned images of their signature and recently clicked passport sized photograph with the following specifications:

The signature of the applicant should be clearly visible and it should match with the signature of the applicant in class 10th and 12th certificates. The photograph of the applicant should be black & white or colored along with clear contrast. The photograph must have the name of the applicant along with the date of clicking. Polaroid photographs or photographs with cap or goggles are not acceptable.

After uploading the scanned documents the applicants can review their application form by clicking on the Review button. After making all the changes the applicants could proceed with the payment options.

Step 4: Payment of JEE Mains Application Form 2018

For making the payment, the applicants need to submit the details of either credit or debit card followed by the Submit Button. Application fees for JEE Mains 2018 application form could also be paid through e-Challan.

Step 5: Print out of Confirmation Page

After the payment of application fees, the candidates can download and take a printout of the acknowledgment page for the future references.

If applicants have made an error while filling the JEE Mains form 2018, then, in that case, the applicants are allowed to correct their mistakes online. However, the applicants are not allowed to change their mode of examination from Online to Offline mode and except that, the applicants would be allowed to change all other details.

JEE Mains Correction in Application form:

The correction process of JEE Mains 2018 online application form has been initiated by CBSE on its official website. The applicants can now edit their personal data or any incorrect and incomplete information in their application forms on the official link jeemain.nic.in. The applicants can make changes in their application forms till 22nd of January 2018. The applicants can even upload fresh Images if the previously uploaded images have an evident issue.

JEE Mains Correction in Application form – Important Instructions:

Any changes in the application form can be made only once, therefore, the applicants must follow all the guidelines carefully before updating their JEE Mains 2018 application form.

The applicants, however, cannot change their mode of examination from online to the offline mode of examination.

The applicants must ensure that all the information updated is as per the guidelines prescribed by CBSE to avoid rejections of their Updated application Forms. The exam will be conducted on 8th April in pen and paper mode, and the computer-based test will be conducted on 15th and 16th of April 2018.

The applicants need to pay an additional fee for making corrections in their application forms. The payment can be done online through debit cards, credit cards or e-wallets and offline through e-challans at Canara, Syndicate, and ICICI Banks within the above – mentioned timeline.
