JEE Main application form is mainly released via online mode and candidates have to visit the official website in order to download and fill the form. For 2021, JEE Main application form is being released in several stages as the entrance exam is being conducted in 4 sessions.
For the first session, the JEE Main registration process is beginning on December 16th, 2020. As per the notification shared by NTA the last day to submit the JEE Main 2021 application form online is January 23rd, 2021 (Extended date). The last day to submit the application fee is 24th January 2021. Candidates have to follow the deadline strictly as the exam authority will not entertain any requests after the submission day is over. The details for the rest of the sessions are provided below.

Meanwhile, candidates have to fill in the JEE Main 2021 application form carefully and they should avoid making mistakes. They have to input details like their name, contact number, category and they have to submit some scanned copies of documents as well for successfully completing the application process. However, candidates before filling the form should go through the JEE Main eligibility criteria defined by the NTA. They should satisfy the criteria and then only they should fill the form. If the requirements are not met then the application will be rejected.
As per the guidelines set by the exam conducting authority, only one JEE Main application form is provided per student. The registration will be cancelled if more than one application form is submitted per student. We will learn more about the whole process and the requirements below.

Important Notice for 2021 Registration
I. A candidate has the option to apply for one Session (February) or more than one Session (March /April /May 2021) together and pay the exam fee accordingly. In other words, if a candidate is applying only for February Session, he/she has to pay the Examination Fee only for that Session during the current application period and will have the opportunity to apply again for the March/ April / May Session, when the application window will be re-opened briefly immediately after the declaration of the result of February / March/ April Session.
The fee once paid will not be refunded. However, it can be taken forward to another Session of JEE (Main) 2021. Multiple application forms submitted by a candidate for the same Session(s) will not be accepted at any cost.
II. The fee can be submitted only online through Net Banking, Credit Card or Debit Card, UPI or Paytm Services. Processing charges and GST as applicable are chargeable to the candidate (in addition to the examination fee) by the concerned Bank/Payment Gateway Integrator.
III. For those candidates who would apply for more than one Session of examination (February/March/April/May), may change their Choice of Cities in the correction window, which will be opened in due course under intimation to them through Public Notice for each Session.
IV. The Confirmation Page of the online Application Form will be generated only after successful payment by the Candidate. In case the Confirmation Page is not generated after payment of fee, then the candidate may have to approach the concerned Bank/Payment Gateway for ensuring the successful payment or for obtaining the refund.
Documents Required For Filling JEE Main Application Form

Steps To Be Followed While Filling The JEE Main Form
The JEE Main application form has to be filled and submitted online. The following steps should be followed for successfully filling and submitting the application form:
Step 1: JEE Main Registration
The link to JEE Main registration page is usually available as soon as the registration window gets activated on the official website (jeemain.nta.nic.in) of the JEE Main. On the registration page of JEE Main, the following details of the applicant must be entered carefully: Nationality, Identification type, State, Name of the Student, Date of Birth and gender of the applicant. After filling in all the above-mentioned details, enter the security pin and click on the submit button.
Step 2: Filling Of JEE Main Application Form
After successful registration, students will be redirected to the JEE Main application page where the following details have to be entered:
Exam Related Details:
- In this section, the information related to the medium of question paper, mode of examination and the course for which they are applying is to be provided.
- Students appearing for offline mode of examination could opt for 4 centres according to their preferences whereas for appearing in the online mode of examination the applicant could opt for only one centre.
Personal Details Of Applicant:
- In this section, personal information like parents’ name, name, nationality, state of eligibility, date of birth, category, gender, etc.
- It is mandatory for candidates to enter their Aadhaar number, place of residence and mailing address.
- In this section, all the details related to the qualifying examination like their school name, school address, class 10th &and class 12th passing year, etc.
- Students appearing for the 12th class board exams also have to enter the details of their qualifying examination.
Address Details Of The Applicants:
- In this section, applicants need to provide their complete address like mobile number, pin code, state, country, email address, etc.
- In this section, all the details of their Guardians and parents like occupation, qualification, annual income details, etc.
Password Creation: Before submitting the JEE Main form the students need to set a password that would be required in the future for signing in to the portal. The students also need to remember their answers to security questions which will be helpful in recovering their password in case if they forget it. Also, note down the system-generated Application No.
Candidates should ensure that their email address and mobile number to be registered in their online application form are their own. This is important because relevant/important information/ communication will be sent by NTA through e-mail on the registered e-mail address and/or through SMS on the registered mobile number only. NTA shall not be responsible for any non-communication/miscommunication with a candidate in the email address or mobile number given by him/her other than his/her
Step 3: Uploading Of Scanned Documents
The Applicants need to upload the scanned images of their signature and recently clicked passport sized photograph with the following specifications:

The signature of the applicant should be clearly visible and it should match with the signature of the applicant in class 10th and 12th certificates. The photograph of the applicant should be black and white or coloured along with clear contrast. The photograph must have the name of the applicant along with the date of clicking. Polaroid photographs or photographs with cap or goggles are not acceptable. After uploading the scanned documents the applicants can review their application form by clicking on the Review button. After making all the changes the applicants could proceed with the payment options.
Step 4: Payment Of JEE Main Application Fee
For making the payment, the applicants need to submit the details of either credit or debit card followed by the Submit button. Application or registration fees for JEE Main form can also be paid through e-Challan.

Step 5: Take A Print Out Of The Confirmation Page
After the payment of application fees, the candidates can download and take a printout of the acknowledgement page for future references. If applicants have made an error while filling the JEE Main form, then, in that case, the applicants are allowed to correct their mistakes online. However, the applicants are not allowed to change their mode of examination from Online to Offline mode and except that, the applicants would be allowed to change all other details.

The correction process of JEE Main online application is normally initiated by the conducting body on their official website. The applicants can now edit their personal data or any incorrect and incomplete information in their application forms on the official link jeemain.nic.in. The applicants can even upload fresh images if the previously uploaded images have an evident issue.

Important Instructions For The Correction Process
Any changes in the application form can be made only once, therefore, the applicants must follow all the guidelines carefully before updating their JEE Main application forms. The applicants, however, cannot change their mode of examination from online to offline mode of examination. The applicants must ensure that all the information updated is as per the guidelines prescribed to avoid rejections of their updated application forms.
The dates to make changes in the application form will be announced by the exam authority. The applicants need to pay an additional fee for making corrections in their application forms. The payment can be done online through debit cards, credit cards or e-wallets and offline through e-challans at Canara, Syndicate, and ICICI Banks within the above-mentioned time frame.
Things Candidates Should Keep Ready Before Filling The Form
There are certain things that candidates need to do or rather keep some documents ready before filling in the JEE Main online application form. Some of them include:
- PC with a good internet connection.
- Details of qualification.
- Scanned copy of passport photograph. It has to be clear, in JPG/JPEG format and the image size has to be between 10 kb–200 kb.
- Digital copy of the candidate’s signature in JPG/JPEG format with the image size between 4 kb–30 kb.
- Category certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS etc.) and the file size: 50kb to 300KB).
- PwD certificate (file size: 50kb to 300kb) in jpg/jpeg format.

About JEE Main
JEE Main is the 1st stage of IIT JEE and is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) from 2019 onwards. The students are granted admissions based on their performance in this exam.
