The exam pattern of JEE Main 2017 paper was very much similar to that of the previous year’s question paper. There were objective and multiple choice questions with thirty questions from each physics, chemistry & mathematics. For every correct answer, the candidates were awarded four Marks while one mark was deducted for every incorrect answer. The was no negative marking for questions left unattempted. There were total 4 sets in JEE Main question paper 2017 i.e. Set A, B, C and D with each set having 90 questions and the paper was of total 360 Marks. JEE Main 2017 Question Paper Physics Section: There were total 11 questions from class 11th Physics syllabus and 19 questions were from the class 12th syllabus. The questions were more calculative and formula based than theoretical. In terms of difficulty, the paper was moderate for students having a good conceptual knowledge along with its applications.

JEE Main 2017 Paper Chemistry Section: The questions were more theoretical than calculative, making it the quickest subject to solve. This section was the easiest one with the difficulty curve similar to that of the previous year.

JEE Main Question Paper 2017 Maths Section: There were total 10 questions from class 11th Mathematics syllabus and 20 questions were from the class 12th syllabus. Mainly because of its lengthiness and application-based questions, several students rated it as the most difficult section.
