## Important Guidelines for Successfully Adopting IIT JEE Study Planย

- Avoid having multiple books and materials for the same subject in your preparation. An IIT JEE coaching study material that covers the syllabus is usually enough.
- Remove all the distractions that can affect your studies.ย
- Build up equal interest for all the three PCM subjects.
- It is advisable that you donโt โmeasureโ the number of hours you study. You should instead study with full concentration whenever you open your book for a study session. However, as per recorded data, a minimum of 4-6 hours per day can be considered good for JEE preparation.
- Have a clear understanding of the concepts so that it will become easier to solve the different types of questions in the exam.ย
- Try to incorporate problem-solving in your daily study session. Only covering the theory will not be enough. Try to come up with or reach the solution in the fastest time.ย
- If there are any, try applying simple tricks in solving problems. Always focus on balancing speed and accuracy.ย
- Make notes of important terms, formulas, and reactions. Try to include your own shortcuts and tricks.
- Have all past year’s JEE questions and start solving them.
- Attempt mock tests as it will help you get a clear idea of the exam, the question paper pattern, types of questions, difficulty level and more.
- Always analyse your performance and especially your mistakes. Once you identify the weak areas, work on improving them for the next round.ย
- Consistency is to be maintained.
- Another important aspect is to include a specific revision slot in your JEE study schedule.
- Clear your doubts and questions at the earliest. Take help from teachers, mentors and even your friends.

## Frequently Asked Questions on JEE Study Plan

### Can I start preparing for JEE Main from Class 11?

Yes, you can. Two years is quite enough to prepare for JEE Main. Start with enhancing your grasp of concepts from the NCERT books. Candidates can then move to the additional books and study materials for preparation.

### Can I take breaks in between during long study sessions?

Yes. Taking breaks is actually important. You can take short breaks in between and maybe engage in some activity that can act as a stress buster. Sometimes continuous and long study hours can be stressful.

### Is there any difference between JEE Main and JEE Advanced preparation?

Once you have decided to start with JEE preparation, you can consider JEE Main and JEE Advanced more or less as one exam. If you look at the JEE syllabus, books, and study material, we can say that the preparation strategy can remain the same for both exams. The only thing that you need to note is what the exam is all about. For instance, JEE Main is more memory-based and is designed to test your understanding, speed and accuracy. On the other hand, tracking JEE Advanced requires an in-depth understanding of concepts and their applications.

### Should I make my own notes?

You can make your own notes. One big advantage of this is that you will be able to remember the topics and concepts better as you will be writing things by hand rather than reading from a book. Avoid copying the exact text from the books instead, write them in your own words. You can also keep a separate notebook for remembering formulas.
