NEET-UG results 2023 declared on 13-June-2023 at neet.nta.nic.in by the National Testing Agency (NTA). 

NEET Results 2023 Declared: The NTA has officially declared the results for NEET 2023 on their official website on 13-June-2023. The students are required to provide their D.O.B and Roll Number to download the NEET result 2023. NEET UG 2023 result will display NEET cutoff marks, total marks scored, percentile, AIR, marks scored in each subject (PCB), AIQ Rank (All India Quota), and category rank. The candidates clearing the specified cut-off marks will be included in the All India Merit List. Also, the All India Quota list (AIQ) will be prepared for qualified candidates who opted for admission under AIQ category.

Every year, approximately 1.5 million students appear for this exam for admissions to more than 1 Lakh MBBS and BDS seats across the country. The counselling process will commence soon after the declaration of NEET result 2023. The Directorate General of Health Sciences (DGHS) Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) shall commence counselling through the online mode and hence this will require students to register online. Students who have cleared the cut-off and qualified for NEET 2023 with the mentioned percentile will be eligible for participating in NEET 2023 Counselling. The DGHS shall conduct NEET counselling for 15% of the seats from the gross intake which includes all the government colleges for All India Quota candidates except for colleges of J & K state.

NEET Results date 2023

NTA evaluates the OMR response sheets of candidates using the standard process, after which the results are formally declared. The results are released on the official website neet.nta.nic.in. Students can then download their respective scorecards. NTA declares NEET-UG 2023 results after exam is conducted.

How to Check NEET 2023 Results?

The candidates can check their NEET-UG Result 2023 online by following the below-mentioned steps:

    1. Visit NTA’s official website http://ntaneet.nic.in/
    2. Enter your Application Number and D.O.B/password and click the Submit Button. These are the same set of credentials that the candidate has entered at the time of registration for the NEET 2023 exam.
    3. The browser takes the user to the next window where the results will be displayed
    4. Download and save your scorecard. Take a printout of the same for counselling and hence for admissions

NEET 2020 results

NEET UG 2023 Results – All India Quota and State Quota

All India Quota rank (AIQ) will be declared for admission to 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats. Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will conduct the counselling for AIQ seats based on AIQ rank provided in NEET AIQ Rank letter. Admissions under the State Quota seats and 15% All India Quota seats are rendered governing to the rank obtained in NEET 2023. Once the results are out, the Ministry of Health Services and Family Welfare, The Directorate General of Health Services, the Government of India will commence the NEET 2023 Counselling.

Admission under the state quota seat (85%) is subject to the eligibility criteria and reservation policy specified in the state by the concerned authorities regularly.

NEET 2023 Result – Tie-Breaking Criteria

In case of two or more candidates secure the same marks/percentile scores in the NEET(UG) – 2023, the inter-se-merit shall be determined as follows:

Criteria 1: The Candidate scoring more marks in Biology will be given a higher rank.

Criteria 2: If the tie still remains, the Candidate scoring more marks in Chemistry will be awarded a higher rank.

Criteria 3: Next, if the tie still remains, the Candidate scoring more marks in Physics will be awarded a higher rank.

Criteria 4: Further, the candidate with the least number of wrong answers will be given a higher rank.

Criteria 5: Candidates with a lesser number of incorrect attempted answers and correct answers in Biology

Criteria 6: Candidates with a lesser number of incorrect attempted answers and correct answers in Chemistry

Criteria 7: Candidates with a lesser number of incorrect attempted answers and correct answers in Physics

Criteria 8: The age criteria will be applied and the candidate senior in age will be awarded a higher rank in NEET-UG result 2023

Criteria 9: Finally, application numbers in ascending order

NEET Result 2023 – Marking Scheme

NTA shall follow a specific set of marking scheme blueprints while calculating the result of NEET 2023. The students can also evaluate their expected NEET scores by following the given below marking scheme.

  • Each question carries 4 marks
  • Correct answer fetches 4 marks for each question
  • 1 mark is deducted for each incorrect answer
  • If, after the process of challenging a key, more than one option is found to be correct, then any/all one of the multiple correct options which are marked will be awarded 4 marks
  • No marks are awarded if questions are left unanswered or unattempted
  • If none of the options is found correct or a question is found to be dropped or wrong then all candidates who have appeared will be awarded 4 marks, regardless whether the question has been attempted or not attempted by the candidate

NEET Results 2023 – How to calculate marks?

Calculation of scores:

  • Award 4 marks for each correct response
  • Deduct 1 mark for each incorrect response
  • No marks to be awarded to deducted if question is left unattempted
  • Use the below-mentioned formula to calculate your NEET score

NEET score = 4 X Total correct responses – 1 X Total incorrect responses

NEET Answer Keys 2023

NTA displays the Provisional set of answer keys thus giving an opportunity to challenge. In the event of any discrepancy, the same can be challenged. For the online challenge against the provisional answer keys, students can pay a non-refundable fee of ₹ 200/- per answer challenged within a stipulated time. Challenges will be verified by officials and if found to be valid, answer keys will be revised. Consequently, the final set of answer keys is prepared and released.

What after NEET results?

Candidates who have qualified NEET by clearing the cut-off will  be able to participate in the counselling process by the MCC for seats under the All India Quota. For the same, candidates have to register for the NEET counselling process.

Additionally, qualified students can register for seats under state counselling of their corresponding states after having met the eligibility criteria specified by their respective state officials.
