Class 1 is the beginners’ stage of learning new things and developing new literacy skills of young learners. As per the Class 1 syllabus, kids are introduced to study new subjects in 1st standard such as:
In Class 1 English, your child gets acquainted with reading high-frequency words and is able to read grade-level books fluently and understand them. He/She has a better sense of using different words used in the English subject. In standard 1, your kid learns to spell three or four-letter words and write simple, clear and coherent full sentences in English. Apart from this, your child learns new poems for class 1 and learns to compose short essays on simple topics of interest.
As per the CBSE syllabus for class 1, your child learns simple mathematical problems such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division sums and gets hands-on experience of counting sequential numbers up to 100. Besides in Class 1 Maths, he/she also learns how to compare numbers using various mathematical signs such as greater than, lesser than and equal to in standard 1.
In GK for class 1, young kids learn basic General knowledge questions about plants, animals, human body parts, etc. They also learn concepts of Environmental Science – EVS for class 1 like personal hygiene, animal homes and their sounds, etc.
