CLAT Exam Books and Study Materials for Undergraduate (UG) Law programme 2022
The CLAT exam for undergraduate law programmes focuses on 5 areas, namely English, legal reasoning, logical reasoning, current affairs including general knowledge and quantitative techniques. A detailed list of books and study materials for each section is given in the tables below. Candidates should try to go through one or two resources for each section. After gaining conceptual clarity, you should practise more sample papers given on the Consortium’s official website. Moreover, you should definitely go through the CLAT previous year question papers. Note: Before starting your preparation for CLAT, go through the syllabus and previous year question papers and try to understand the exam pattern, weightage for each section and difficulty level of questions.
English Language for CLAT 2022

CLAT Exam Books and Study Materials for Postgraduate (PG) Law programme 2022
The CLAT exam for the Postgraduate (PG) Law programme 2022 is a 2 hour paper comprising 120 questions. The question paper will comprise extracts taken from primary legal materials followed by questions. There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
The PG-CLAT exam contains questions related to Constitutional Law, Law of Contract, Torts, Family Law, Criminal Law, Property Law, Company Law, Public International Law, Tax Law, Jurisprudence, Administrative Law, Environmental Law, and Labour & Industrial Law. Candidates should refer to the books that are part of the law undergraduate programme to prepare for the PG-CLAT exam. In addition, candidates should go through the previous year question papers.
Other than referring to the books used in the undergraduate programmes, candidates appearing for the PG-CLAT exam should go through all important judgments or court decisions (particularly recent ones) in various fields of law, statutes etc and try to find out various issues discussed in these judgments and refresh their knowledge of principal constitutional and legislative provisions. It will be useful for candidates if they are aware of historical case law and amendments related to such constitutional and legislative provisions.
