What is the SBI Clerk?

The roles and responsibilities of an SBI Clerk (Junior Associate) include client interactions and customer-related operations like Customer Support and Inbound & Outbound Sales. Applicants who clear the SBI Clerk Prelims and Main exams are designated as cashiers, accountants and other posts depending upon the requirement in a particular SBI bank branch.

To be considered for a position, an applicant must be skilled (reading, writing, speaking, and understanding) in the state’s/UT’s/special area’s designated local language. A test for language proficiency in the chosen local language will be administered as part of the hiring process. It will be held after passing the online main exam but before joining the bank. Candidates who don’t pass this test won’t be given a job offer.

Since the Junior Associate (Customer Support & Sales) position offers a relatively lucrative SBI Clerk salary, a large number of applicants—about 20 lakh annually—apply. If applicants have dedicatedly and thoroughly prepared for the SBI Clerk test, it is not difficult to pass.
