SBI SO Exam 2023: Recruitment Notification

What is SBI SO Exam? The SBI SO exam is administered by the State Bank of India in order to recruit officers for various specialist categories.  It accepts applications for the position of expert officer (SO) in accordance with openings in other departments. The recruiting process is often carried out for manager positions, however, notifications are also made for senior-level positions. The candidates are selected based on the online tests, followed by interviews. However, shortlisting individuals and then conducting in-person interviews are also sometimes used to recruit eligible candidates.

The SBI SO exam exam recruitment 2023 is yet to be conducted.

On May 27, SBI SO notification 2022 for Risk Specialist Sector, Risk Specialist Sector, Risk Specialist Credit, Risk Specialist Climate Risk, Risk Specialist IND AS, and Risk Specialist Market Risk was published to fill a total of 14 positions. The application form needed to be submitted by June 16th. On June 23, 2022, through another notification, applications were invited for 11 more positions. The last date to fill out the application was July 13th, 2022. The selection of candidates for these posts will be done through shortlisting and interviews.

Earlier, SBI SO 2022 notification was released for 32 vacancies of Manager, Assistant General Manager (AGM) and Deputy Manager on regular basis. The online application form was available from May 21 to June 12, 2022. Results of which are recently announced.

SBI is the body that is responsible to recruit candidates for the post of Specialist Officer for the 2023 recruitment. The notification is released on both a regular and contract basis as per the Bank’s requirement.

SBI SO Selection Process

The Specialist Officer will be recruited by SBI for both regular and contract employment, for various positions. There are several stages to the SBI SO selection method. For each position, the selection process is different.

Generally, the SBI SO selection process comprises online examinations which are followed by an Interview. However, from the recruitment of 2020, only shortlisting and Interviews were conducted for Specialist Officer recruitment. This is followed for recruitment in 2023 as well, both online examination and direct interviews have been announced based on different posts.

There is a post-wise selection process for the SBI Specialist Officer exam. Given below is the general selection process which SBI conducts to recruit Specialist officers. Changes in the same can be made as per the conducting body’s requirements. The selection process of the SBI SO includes the following 3 steps:

Step 1: Online Examination

The candidates applying for SBI SO need to clear the online examination which consists of two papers:

  1. Paper 1
  2. Paper 2

Candidates who clear the online examination are allowed to proceed to the next level of the SBI SO examination.

Step 2: Shortlisting

Shortlisting is the next process and it is done only for the candidates who opt for contractual posts.

Step 3: Interview

Those candidates who applied for both regular and contractual posts and who have cleared the online examination are eligible to appear for the Interview.

SBI SO Apply Online

  1. Candidates need to first log on to the official website of the SBI (www.sbi.co.in)
  2. On the same page, they need to click on to the “Careers” section.
  3. A new page will open on the top right-hand corner of the page as “Latest Announcements” column.
  4. Candidates need to click on that section and check the SBI Specialist Cadre Officer section and then click on the detailed SBI SO Notification.
  5. After reading the notification, candidates can proceed with the SBI SO online application process as per the eligibility of the respective SBI SO post.
  6. Once the application process is through, candidates need to pay the SBI SO Application Fee as per the respective post through any of the below mentioned online payment modes:

Candidates applying for the SBI SO exam needs to be aware of the SBI SO exam pattern which includes 2 papers – Paper 1 and Paper 2.

Candidates qualifying the online examination are eligible for the next process which is the Interview round. It is to be noted that, the marks scored in Paper I are qualifying in nature and will not be considered in the final merit list.

The final list of shortlisted candidates will be announced by taking into consideration the marks obtained by the candidates in the Professional Knowledge section and the Interview round.

After combining the scores from the Professional Knowledge Test (out of 150 marks) and the interview (out of 25 marks), the final merit list will be determined. The score will be weighted as follows:

SBI SO Result

State Bank of India releases the SBI SO result for the shortlisted candidates who have cleared the Interview process. Every year SBI releases the results for Specialist Cadre Officers cadre for different positions.

Here are the steps to check the SBI SO Result:

  • Step 1 – Open the SBI official website to access SBI SO Result.
  • Step 2 – Enter your SBI SO Roll Number and Date of Birth (DoB)/ Password.
  • Step 3 – Click on Submit button after feeding in the requisite credentials.
  • Step 4 – The result would be displayed according to the different posts.
  • Step 5 – Once you verify your result thoroughly, you can proceed to download your SBI SO Result.
  • Step 6 – Take a print-out of your SBI SO Result and save it for future use.

SBI SO Cut-Off

Cut-offs are the minimum score criteria established by the governing body that applicants must meet in order to advance to the next stage of recruitment. Candidates won’t be able to continue in the recruitment process if they don’t meet the cutoff marks. The official qualifying score for the SBI SO 2023 recruiting has not yet been released as the exam is yet to be conducted.
