SSC Stenographer 2023 - Stenographer Grade C & Grade D Exam

SSC Stenographer 2023: The SSC Stenographer Notification for 2023 will be out on 2nd August 2023 for the post of Stenographer Grade C & Grade D. SSC Stenographer 2023 application dates are from 2nd August to 23rd August 2023. The exam will be conducted in Oct-Nov 2023.

SSC Stenographer 2022 –

  • The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the SSC Stenographer Grade ‘C’ & ‘D’ Examination, 2022 Result for CBT Exam on 9th January 2023. SSC Stenographer Result 2022 has been declared for the Written exam in PDF format along with category-wise SSC Stenographer Cut-Off.
  • SSC Stenographer Skill Test will be now be re-conducted again on 25th April, 2023 for Stenographer Grade C & D (Hindi) and on 26th for Stenographer Grade C & D (English). This is for the candidates who appeared in the Skill Test on 10th March, 2023.
  • SSC Stenographer Grade C and Grade D exam notice is released by the commission on August 20th 2022. Commission will hold an open competitive computer-based examination on 18th November 2022 for recruitment to the posts of Stenographer Grade C (Group B, Non-Gazetted) and Stenographer Grade D (Group C) for various Ministries/ Departments/ Organizations in the Government of India.

SSC released SSC Stenographer notification 2020 on October 10th to conduct Stenographer CBE from March 29th 2021 onwards. The commission released SSC Stenographer 2019 notification on September 20th, 2019. The Stenographer exam 2019 was scheduled from May 5th 2020 to May 7th 2020 but due to COVIDS-19 pandemic, the exam is postponed to an undisclosed date.

Any candidates who are a

  • Citizen of India/subject of Nepal/ Citizen of Bhutan
  • Tibetan refugee who came and settled in India before January 1, 1962
  • A person of Indian origin migrated from Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Uganda, Kenya, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Zaire, Malawi, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Provided that any candidate apart for the Indian citizens have to present a certificate of eligibility issued by the Indian Government.

SSC Stenographer Syllabus

Like the exam pattern, the Syllabus for SSC Stenographer exam is also decided by the Selection Commission only.

Indicative Syllabus for Computer Based Mode Examination

  1. General Intelligence & Reasoning: It would include questions of both verbal and non-verbal type. The test will include questions on analogies, similarities and  differences, space visualization, problem solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, discriminating observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning, verbal and figure classification, arithmetical number series, non-verbal series etc. The test will also include questions designed to test the candidate’s abilities to deal with abstract ideas and symbols and their relationship, arithmetical computation and other analytical functions.
  2. General Awareness: Questions will be designed to test the ability of the candidates’ general awareness of the environment around him and its application to society. Questions will also be designed to test the knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspects as may be expected of an educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining to Sports, History, Culture, Geography, Economic scene, General Polity including Indian Constitution, and Scientific Research etc. These questions will be such that they do not require a special study of any discipline.
  3. For VH candidates of 40% and above visual disability, there will be no component of Maps/Graphs/Diagrams/Statistical Data in the General Intelligence & Reasoning/ General Awareness Paper.
  4. English Language & Comprehension: In addition to the testing of candidates’ understanding of the English Language, its vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms and its correct usage, etc., his/ her writing ability would also be tested.
