CLAT 2023 was conducted on December 18, 2022.
The CLAT 2022 exam application window for the undergraduate and postgraduate law programmes opened on January 1, 2022 and will close on 31 March 2022. Before filling in the CLAT online application form, candidates should read the instructions given on the Consortium’s website and ensure that they fulfil the eligibility criteria in terms of marks, claims under different categories etc as stipulated in CLAT rules and by the respective NLUs.

How to apply for CLAT 2024 undergraduate and postgraduate law programmes?
You can follow the steps given below to apply for CLAT 2024.
1 | Visit the official website of Consortium of National Law Universities (consortiumofnlus.ac.in). |
2 | Register yourself for CLAT 2024 on the website. You need to fill in your name, contact number, email id and password. An OTP will be sent to your contact number. The OTP number has to be used to complete the registration process. |
3 | After completing the registration process, login again using the mobile number and password. |
4 | A new page will open. Read the instructions carefully and select the course that you want to apply for i.e. ‘Undergraduate (UG) 5 Year LLB Course’ or ‘Postgraduate 1 Year LLM Course’. After selecting the course, click on ‘Apply for CLAT 2024’ |
5 | On the new page, fill in your personal information, communication details, qualifying examination details, exam centre preference and reservation details (if applicable). Candidates will be allowed to select 3 exam centres of their choice. |
6 | Upload your photograph and signature as per the instructions given on the website. |
7 | After filling in all the details, you need to click on ‘Submit Form’. Recheck all the information given in the online application form. |
8 | After submitting the CLAT application form 2024, you need to pay the application fee |
Points to Remember: CLAT 2024 Application Form for UG and PG Law programmes
- CLAT 2024 examination will be held in offline mode
- Incomplete application forms will not be considered.
- Candidates should submit the applications online only from the Consortium’s (consortiumofnlus.ac.in) website.
- Candidates who are Indian Nationals or NRIs or PIO or OCI can appear in CLAT 2024.
- Candidates can get detailed information on the 22 NLUs in the e-brochures given on the official website of the Consortium.
- For any information regarding NRI/NRI Sponsored/Foreign National seats, candidates can refer to the e-brochures as well as the official websites of the respective NLUs.
- All information related to the intake of candidates, fee structure, reservation policies, courses offered etc are provided in the e-brochures available on Consortium’s website and websites of the participating NLUs.
- Candidates should regularly visit the official website for new updates on CLAT 2024
- Candidates should fill and submit the CLAT application form well in advance.
- Candidates should be careful while filling the online CLAT application form 2024. The name of the candidate and his/her parents should be spelt correctly in the online application form.
- All the details of the candidates that they intend to fill in the application form should match the information given in their Certificates/Mark sheets/Identity proof. Any discrepancy found in the application form may lead to disqualification of the candidate.
- Candidates should carefully fill in the information regarding program, category, and BPL field as no changes will be allowed after submission and payment of application fee.
- Updates to the online application form will not be entertained after the closure date.
- Candidates should furnish correct and authentic information in the online application form. Applicants can be disqualified if they provide incorrect or false information at any stage of the application, examination and admission process.
- Candidates have to fill their preference order for all 22 NLUs after the results are announced.
- In the event of unforeseen incidents or insufficient/extra number of candidates opting to appear from a particular exam centre, the Convenor, CLAT 2024 can cancel such a test centre and allot another exam centre to the applicants.
- To claim the benefit of reservation, candidates should provide relevant certificates as prescribed by the Central or State Government.
- Participating National Law Universities can change the total number of seats as per their policy before the final allotment.
- The reservation policy is subject to change as per the decisions of the concerned Government.
- If candidates have submitted more than one online application form, only their last online application form will be considered. In such cases, the application fee paid by the candidate for the previous application form is non-refundable.
- Candidates should upload all documents in pdf format only.
- Admission of a candidate is subject to verification of documents, minimum qualifications and other eligibility criteria prescribed as per CLAT rules.
- NRI sponsored (wherever applicable) is subject to the outcome of the decision of the Supreme Court of India.

- Category certificate (SC/ST/OBC candidates)
- P.W.D and BPL category candidates should provide relevant certificates issued by a competent authority.
CLAT 2024 Examination Application Fee
- The CLAT Application form fees has to be paid online only.
- General/OBC/PWD/NRI/PIO/OCI candidates should pay Rs 4000 as application fee.
- SC/ST/BPL category candidates should pay Rs.3,500 as application fee.
- The application fee does not include bank charges. Therefore, candidates have to pay the bank service charges along with the application fee online.
- Application Fee is non-refundable.
- The cost of previous years’ question papers (CLAT) is not included in the CLAT 2024 application fee of Rs.4,000 or Rs.3,500 (wherever applicable). The cost of CLAT previous years’ question papers for CLAT is Rs.500, which has to be paid separately by the applicant.
- The Counselling fee for CLAT 2024 exam is Rs.30,000 for the General category candidates and Rs.20,000 for ST/SC/OBC/BC/EWS/PWD and candidates who belong to other reserved categories.

- Candidates can download the Admit Card/Hall ticket for CLAT 2024 examination from the official website of the Consortium by logging into their account.
- The exact date on which the admit card will be released will be available on the official website.
