There are many interesting and unique facts about the Indian Constitution. Five of them are mentioned below:
- The elephant was adopted as the symbol (seal) of the Constituent Assembly.
- Sir B N Rau was appointed as the constitutional advisor (legal advisor) to the Constituent Assembly.
- S N Mukherjee was the chief draftsman of the Constitution in the Constituent Assembly.
- The original text of the Constitution was handwritten in two languages – English and Hindi.
- A total of three reading sessions were held to discuss the draft constitution before it was finally passed on November 26, 1949.
