What is the main cause for smog?

The term “smog” is used to describe a mix of smoke and fog. It has become a serious problem in major urban cities. The emissions from vehicles and industries, as well as the combustion of wood and coal together with the buildup of certain weather conditions, are the main causal agents of smog. Other key contributors of smog in the atmosphere include:

  1. Excessive usage of coal
  2. Firecrackers
  3. Vehicular and Industrial Air Pollution
  4. Burning of agricultural waste
  5. Urbanisation and increasing construction and demolition of green lands
  6. Overpopulation
