The theme of World Heritage Day 2021 is “Complex Pasts: Diverse Futures”.
After the annual announcement of new sites by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, the theme was decided due to the fact that conservation of cultural heritage requires careful examination of the past, and its practice demands provision for the future.
