What does COP24 mean?

The COP24 is an informal name for the 24th conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

It was held at Katowice, Poland between 2 and 15 December 2018. The conference’s objective was to have a full implementation of the Paris agreement. The result of COP24 was that rules on the implementation of the Paris Agreement were agreed upon. In other words, a rulebook was formed on how governments will measure and report on their emissions-cutting efforts.
