The immediate result of the Sepoy Mutiny was a complete overhaul of the British Administration. The parliament of Britain held the East India Company’s excesses largely a factor in fermenting the Sepoy mutiny.
As a result, the East India Company was abolished and its domains came under the direct administration of the British Crown in 1858. Queen Victoria, the reigning monarch of the British Isles was proclaimed as the Empress of India
