The latest report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) was published on August 9 2021.

The IPCC report stated that without immediate, rapid and large-scale reductions in greenhouse gas emissions, it will be impossible to limit warming close to 1.5°C or even 2°C.

The worst effects of climate change will be seen if the greenhouse gases are not limited to an acceptable level.
