- It is a non-governmental, International organization under the Swiss Federation.
- Formed on 23rd June 1894, it acts as a supreme authority to organize the Summer, Winter, and Youth Olympic Games.
- Founded by Pierre de Coubertin and Demetrios Vikelas, it focuses on organizing the modern Olympic games.
- Pierre de Coubertin is known as the Father of the modern Olympic Games.
International Olympic Committee (IOC)
Mission: IOC is responsible for promoting the Olympic games throughout the world and leading the Olympic movement. It envisages building a better world through sport.

IOC Executive Board: The current IOC Executive Board comprises the President, 4 Vice-Presidents, 7 Executive members, and the Director General.
Members: At present, there are 105 active members, 45 honorary members, and one honour member in the Olympic committee.
Chairman:The current Chairman of the Olympic Committee is Thomas Bach.
