Maidavolu Narasimham was the chairman of the First Narasimham Committee. He was the 13th Governor of Reserve Bank of India (RBI). The first Narasimham Committee was appointed by the former Finance Minister Manmohan Singh in 1991. The second Narasimham Committee was appointed by the former Finance Minister P Chidambaram in 1998, which was again headed by Maidavolu Narasimham.
