As a result of the rising Covid-19 cases, the ICSE announced to the Supreme court that they have cancelled the board exams for classes 10 and ISC Class 12. The Maharashtra Government had already informed the Bombay High Court about its inability to conduct the board exams amid this Covid-19 outbreak.
Now, the plan is to use an internal assessment system to grade the students. The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), the board that holds the Indian Certificate Secondary Education (ICSE) exam for Class 10 students as well as the Indian School Certificate (ISC) exam for Class 12 students are unlikely to provide any option to take the exams at a later date.
Earlier CBSE had also announced plans to cancel the 2020 exams for Classes 10 and 12. Meanwhile, at present, the Centre’s nationwide Coronavirus Lockdown has been extended in containment zones till 30 June 2020.
In the meantime, the Maharashtra government said that it has also decided not to hold any university exams for final year students in the state in the wake of the pandemic.
