CISCE to Introduce Compartmental Exams From This Year Onwards

The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) conducts ICSE and ISC annual examination every year. Last Friday, the CISCE Board released a notification stating that the Board of Council has decided to introduce compartmental examination for Classes 10 (ICSE) and Class 12 (ISC) from this year onwards.

It is good news for the students because they will get a chance to appear for the compartmental exams and don’t have a wait for a whole year. Students will be permitted to appear for one subject only in the ICSE and ISC compartmental examinations.

The Council has still not announced any official date of the ICSE and ISC Exam 2019 result dates. But, according, to the notification the compartmental exams will be held from 15th to 17th July 2019. The registration process for the same will commence in the second and third week of June 2019. Students those who will appear for the compartmental exam need to pay examination fee of Rs 1500/-. The result of the compartmental exam will be declared in the month of August 2019.

For the compartmental exams of Class 10, only those students who pass the English paper along with three other subjects will be eligible to appear for the compartmental exams. The notification stated “Only those candidates who have appeared for a minimum of 5 Registered subjects and have passed in English and three other subjects will be allowed to appear for the Compartmental Examination in any one of the failed subjects”

Students of Class 12 should pass the English paper with two other subjects to be eligible to appear for the compartmental exams of Class 12. CISCE quoted “Only those candidates who have appeared for a minimum of 4 Registered subjects and have passed in English and two other subjects will be allowed to appear for the Compartmental Examination in any one of the failed subjects.”
