JEE Main January 2020 Paper Analysis

JEE Main 2020 exam was conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) from January 6th to 9th in two shifts per day. The first slot was conducted from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm and the second slot was conducted from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm. The exam consisted of three papers instead of two which further included separate papers for B.E./B.Tech, B.Arch, and B.Planning.

JEE Main 2020 Paper 2 was held on January 6 for B.Arch/B.Plan courses, while Paper 1 was held from January 7th to 9th, 2020 for B.E./B.Tech. JEE Main 2020 B.E/B.Tech Paper 1 Analysis: January 7

7th Jan 2020, 1st Shift (9:30 am – 12:30 pm)

B.E/ B.Tech paper was conducted in the morning shift i.e. 9.30 AM to 12.30 PM of JEE Main 2020. Candidates found the question paper easier in comparison to last year. The JEE Main Paper 1 was computer-based and the exam was of 300 marks. As per experts analysis, Physics and Mathematics papers were on the tougher side, compared to Chemistry. The exam was moderate in difficulty and most of the questions were NCERT based.

Exam Analysis Based on Students’ Reactions

Some of the students found JEE Main first shift paper of B. Arch difficult in terms of its Mathematics section. Students from JEE Main Paper 1 January 7 afternoon session said the overall paper was moderate and Chemistry was the easiest part, with most questions from organic and some numerical from the physical section. Mathematics questions from paper 2 were easier in comparison to Aptitude and Drawing section. A majority of questions were asked from NCERT.
