JEE Main 2018 Paper Analysis

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted JEE Mains 2018 offline exam (Pen and paper mode) on April 8th and online exam (Computer Based Test) on 15th and 16th of April 2018. The examination was conducted across 258 centres and around 10.5 lakhs students appeared for this examination.

Around 2,24,000 students qualifying the prescribed cutoff marks will be eligible for appearing in the advanced level of examination i.e. JEE Advanced which is scheduled on May 20th, 2018. JEE Mains is considered as one of the most challenging engineering entrance examinations at the undergraduate level. The students are granted admissions in NITs (National Institute of Technology), IIITs, and other Government Funded Technical Institutes based on the marks scored in JEE Mains.

JEE Mains 2018 Paper Pattern

The question paper had a total of 30 questions (120 Marks) from each chemistry, physics, and mathematics. All the questions were objective type multiple-choice questions. 4 marks were awarded for every correct answer and 1 mark was deducted for each wrong answer. Questions left unattempted were excluded from any negative markings. As per our experts, the difficulty curve of JEE Mains 2018 question paper was in between moderate to tough.
