JEE Mains 2017 – Important Exam Dates

JEE Main is the first level of examination taken by aspirants who want to get into IIT. IITJEE is the toughest entrance exam. JEE Mains has two papers. Paper 1 and Paper 2. Candidates seeking admission in Engineering will have to appear in Paper-1 and ones seeking admission in Architecture will have to appear in the Paper-2.

JEE Main 2017 Application Form

Eligible Candidates can apply for Joint Entrance Examination Main 2017, only through online mode, on the official website of Joint Entrance Examination Main (jeemain.nic.in) application form will be available from 1st week of December 2016.

JEE Main 2017 Exam Pattern & Syllabus

The exam pattern of JEE Main Paper-1:

  • The Paper-1 will be conducted in both online and offline modes. Candidates may choose any one mode of answering.
  • Aspirants interested in pursuing courses like B.E/B.Tech can opt for paper 1.
  • JEE Main Paper-1 will have multiple choice questions (objective type)
  • The question paper of JEE Mains Paper-1 will be available in As well as languages other than English like Hindi and Gujarati. Candidates from Daman Diu, Dadra, and Nagar Haveli will be able to write the exam in Gujarati as well. Candidates have to fill question paper language while filling up the application form.
  • Duration of exam will be 3 hours but for the Candidates with 40% or more disability, duration of exam will be 4 hours.
  • A negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer and no marks will be cut for unanswered questions.

The exam pattern of JEE Main Paper-2:

  • The Paper-2 of JEE Mains will be conducted in offline mode only for aspirants interested in taking B.Arch/B.Planning.
  • JEE Main Paper-2 is a mixture of objective type questions, designing/drawing, and Math aptitude.
  • The question paper of JEE Main Paper-2 will be available in English. As well as languages other than English like Hindi and Gujarati. Candidates from Daman Diu, Dadra, and Nagar Haveli will be able to write the exam in Gujarati as well. Candidates have to fill question paper language while filling up the application form.

JEE Main 2017 – Admit Card

The admit/admission card for Joint Entrance Examination Main 2017 will be released in 1st week of March 2017. Admit cards for JEE Mains, will be available online only. Candidates have to download their admit card from official website of Joint Entrance Examination Main. Carrying admit card on the day of examination is a prerequisite.

JEE Main 2017 – Answer Key

Every year, CBSE releases the official answer key of JEE Main. This year, CBSE will upload the answer key on the official website of Joint Entrance Examination Main after two weeks of JEE Main 2017 which will be the 1st week of June 2017(tentative). The answer key will be released for both Paper-1 and Paper-2 (all sets).

JEE Main 2017 – Rank Calculator

The rank/scores for JEE Main 2017 rank will be calculated only by the candidate’s performance in the exam.

The previous system of calculating rank by the system of 60:40 ratio taking board marks in consideration is no longer applicable.

JEE Main 2017 – Counseling Procedure/Session

Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will conduct the counseling for admissions in IIT, ISM Dhanbad, NITs, IIITs and other Government Funded Technical Institutes. Candidates can fill choices as per the specified schedule. Joint Entrance Examination Main 2017 counseling procedure given below:

  1. Online registration for counseling
  2. Online Choice filling and locking of the preferred seat
  3. Payment of fees
  4. Reporting to the center allotted

JEE Main 2017 – Participating Institutes

The Engineering institutes that accept Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Main – AIR) for admissions to undergraduate engineering programs are the participating Institutes. Total number of Institutes that take the JEE Main ranks is 67 out of which 31 are NIT or National Institute of Technology colleges, 18 IIITs (Indian Institute of Information Technology and 18 Other government-funded Technical Institutes)
