The female reproductive system comprises various elements supporting sexual and reproductive functions. The female perineum supports the vulva or external genitalia. These include the glands, vestibule, vestibular bulb, labia majora and minora, mons pubis, and clitoris. The internal genital organs comprise the vagina, uterus, ovaries, and uterine tubes. The external and internal genitalia comprise the female sex organs.
The vestibule, also known as the vulva vestibule, is located between the labia minora. This smooth surface originates superiorly beneath the clitoris and finishes inferiorly at the posterior end of the labia minora. The margin of the labia minora forms the perimeter of the vulva vestibule. Both the vaginal opening and the urethral opening are located in the vulva vestibule.
