NEET 2017: CBSE Postpones Last Date to Select Exam Centres

CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) has postponed the deadline for aspirants to change the exam centres for the upcoming NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) exam to 31st March.

In addition to this, the board has also added one more exam centre in Maharashtra (Nanded) which would turn the total number of exam centers to 104.

From 24 to 27th March a window to revise the exam centres were allotted to the aspirants earlier.

As per the statistics of the board, the number of aspirants who had registered for the exam numbered to a record 11,35,104 compared to 8,02,594 last year with an increase of 41.42 % this year.

Presently both the JEE and NEET has an equivalent number of exam centres across the country as 23 exam centres were allotted to the latter by the direction of Union HRD ministry to the CBSE.

The test which would be a single-window based one would be held on the 7th May for providing admission to BDS/MBBS courses in dental/medical colleges approved by the Dental Council of India/Medical Council of India. There would be 10 languages in which the exam would be held viz. English, Hindi, Gujarati, Kannada, Odia, Telugu, Tamil, Marathi, Bengali and Assamese.
