NTA opens fresh exam window for CUET UG 2022

On Sunday, August 7, 2022 NTA announced revised dates for examinations which were earlier scheduled between 4 and 6 August, 2022. CUET UG 2022 CUET UG 2022: In order to avoid any more technical glitches, the National Testing Agency has opened CUET UG Phase 2 fresh exam window which has enhanced server capacity and will deliver the question papers more efficiently and quickly. The step has been taken keeping in mind the everyday issues that are occurring during the Common University Entrance Examination (CUET-UG). Recently, the NTA released an official notification announcing the revised dates for the examinations, which were earlier scheduled to be conducted between August 4th and August 6th, 2022. The examinations will now be conducted between August 24 and August 28, 2022. The NTA had to take this major step as more than 50,000 candidates were not able to give their examinations due to uninvited glitches in the system. Before this, the NTA had announced that it had decided to postpone the examinations for the candidates who were appearing for examinations in Kerala. In its notification, NTA mentioned that the situation is not safe and therefore it has taken this step. Heavy rainfall could have caused problems for the candidates while travelling to the exam centres or some issues related to electricity, connectivity, etc. could have been raised during the examination. NTA has also announced that new admit cards will be issued for these exams. Therefore, candidates are advised to keep a check on the official website for more updates. This is the first time that NTA is conducting CUET-UG. In its first year of conduction, the national-level examination has become India’s second most registered entrance exam. Going by various media reports, it has been stated that approximately 9.1 lakh candidates have applied for CUET-UG. Since candidates have applied for several entrance exams of various courses, therefore one can say that nearly 14.4 lakh applications have been received. The guidelines released during the time when the applications were released, clearly stated that every candidate is allowed to apply for a maximum of 9 examinations. There are a total of 61 subjects and 54,555 unique combinations of these subjects which can be opted. The examination is being conducted in 13 languages. The examination conducting authority, during its various media interactions stated that CUET-UG paper is larger in size in comparison to JEE examination, which is also conducted by NTA. The authority has blamed the large file size of the question paper for technical issues.
