IGKO Class 1 Syllabus

The Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) hosts the IGKO (International General Knowledge Olympiad) every year. Students in grades 1 – 10 can undertake the IGKO Olympiad test. Its purpose is to stimulate students’ interest in current events and broaden their understanding. The IGKO Olympiad Syllabus is mandatory reading for students participating in the IGKO Olympiad.

Although the IGKO test is primarily designed to evaluate students’ general awareness, you can expect a few current event questions. The IGKO Olympiad Syllabus will include essential topics in Geography, History, Science, and Mathematics, among other subjects. IGKO Syllabus Class 1 includes four major sections: General Awareness, Current Affairs, Life Skills, and the Achievers Section. The IGKO Syllabus for each section is different for students in Classes 1 to 4 and in grades 5 to 10.

Class 1 to 10 IGKO Syllabus

The IGKO Syllabus is divided into four sections for each class, from first to tenth.

1st section General Awareness Topics based on important events around the world
2nd section Current Affairs Contains questions from recent events
3rd section Life Skills Topics based on abilities for managing and living a better quality of life
4th section Achievers Section Contains questions related to higher-order thinking skills

The Marking Scheme of IGKO Class 1

Class 1 to 4 has a different marking scheme from Classes 5 to 10. The marking structure of IGKO Class 1 is tabulated below.

Aside from that, students learn a lot of new topics and improve their current-event and social-knowledge skills. Is there a limit to how many times I can take IGKO?

The exam is only offered once a year. It will assist you in your academic pursuits while also allowing you to broaden your knowledge. If you are truly interested in the subject, just keep studying and preparing, and the exam will undoubtedly teach you a lot.
