The Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) hosts the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) for students in grades 1 to 12. By taking the IMO exam, students can enhance their time management and competitive skills and prepare for higher marks. It allows students to evaluate their local, regional, state, national, and international performance. Competing with other students instils a strong sense of self-achievement, motivating them to attain greater accomplishments.

The IMO Syllabus for Class 11 is divided into four sections, with section 2 getting the most weight. As a result, more focus should be given to section 2. The second section, Mathematical Reasoning, focuses on critical thinking and reasoning. In other words, Mathematical reasoning is concerned with finding and understanding the Mathematical elements that exist in our environment. By preparing for the Maths Olympiad, students can fully understand all concepts related to various topics. Each topic in the IMO Syllabus Class 11 aims to assist students in their preparation for higher-level competitive exams.
Syllabus of IMO Class 11
The IMO Syllabus for grades 5 to 12 assesses students’ ability to reason verbally and nonverbally. After grade 6, the IMO Syllabus for Mathematical Reasoning takes a significant step forward by including some challenging topics at each level. Mensuration, ratio, linear equations, proportions, quadratic equations, statistics, probability, a broader knowledge of numbers, practical geometry and algebra are covered in the IMO Syllabus for Classes 5 to 12. The four-section of the IMO Class 11 Syllabus is
- Logical Reasoning section – The section is meant to help students improve their learning abilities and feel comfortable approaching nonverbal and verbal reasoning on several topics.
- Mathematical Reasoning section – Students must learn several methods for strengthening Mathematical reasoning by resolving various kinds of Mathematical problems.
- Everyday Mathematics – The 3rd section focuses on aiding students in improving their problem-solving skills concerning various Mathematical concepts.
- Achiever section – Students are evaluated on their fundamental Mathematical skills in the last section. Since the core concepts are discussed in this segment, students must be conversant with the topics in advance to handle various questions more effectively.
