The Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE) conducts the Tamil Nadu Board Class 12 Board examinations in the state. In addition to this, the Board also evaluates the answer sheets and announces the results of the exam. Students can check the Tamil Nadu 12th result 2023 on the Board’s official website, https://tnresults.nic.in. This year, the Tamil Nadu 12th result was announced on 8th May, 2023. The Board announced that 94.03% of the students who appeared for the exam passed.

Follow the steps below to check the Tamil Nadu 12th Result 2023 online. The pictures below are taken from the previous year and are only for reference.

Step 1: Go to the official website of the Tamil Nadu Board, https://tnresults.nic.in:

Step 2: Enter your registration number and date of birth as mentioned on the admit card

Step 3: Enter the details and then click the ‘Get Marks’ button

Step 4: The Tamil Nadu 12th result 2023 will be displayed on your screen.

Step 5: Download and take a printout of the results.

However, this printout cannot be a replacement for the original marks card.

Tamil Nadu 12th Result Statistics (Year-wise comparison)

In 2022, approximately 9.1 lakh students appeared for the TN HSE 2nd Year exam. The Board declared that 8.21 lakh students passed the exam and the overall pass percentage is 93.76%. In 2021, the TN HSE Board cancelled the exam because of Covid-19 and declared that all students had passed. Around 8,18,129 students had registered for the Board exam that year. Close to 1,656 candidates were marked absent by the Board. Overall, 39,679 students scored between 551-600 and 1,67,133 students achieved a score in the 501-550 marks bracket. As many as 2,22,522 students also scored between 451-500 marks.

In the year 2020, the TN 12th Results 2020 were announced on 16th July 2020. The overall pass percentage for the 2020 Exam was 92.3%. Girls performed better than boys with an overall pass percentage of 94.8% and while 83.41% boys passed the exam. Among the districts, Tirupur topped with 97.12%, followed by Erode with 96.99% and Coimbatore with 96.39%.

Students will need to secure 35 out of 100 marks in each subject to pass the board exam. In 2019, TN 12thResult was announced on April 19. A total of 8,42,512 students appeared for the exam and 7,69,225 students passed. The overall pass percentage was 91.3 per cent.
