Glycoprotein does not contain any metal. In glycoproteins, there is no metal. Oligosaccharide chains covalently bonded to polypeptide side chains comprise glycoproteins, which are also proteins. Protein is linked to carbohydrates. Glycoproteins frequently function as essential membrane proteins and are involved in cell-cell communication.
Glycoproteins can be made of a wide range of various molecules, including hormones and antibodies. Although there are multiple glycoproteins, O-linked and N-linked glycoproteins are the most prevalent. The complexity of body functions has led to a rise in interest in glycoprotein production for therapeutic purposes. Recombination and protein glycosylation are two current methods used to synthesise glycoproteins.
