As per the new policy undertaken by the Central Board of Secondary Education, exams would be conducted at a later stage for students who will be participating in national/international sports events during the regular schedule. The implementation of this new policy will ensure that young talents in sports are promoted.
Last year, this facility was only provided to 14 students where the board exam was coinciding with their participation in national sports. A notice has been issued to all the affiliated schools stating that the CBSE Board has decided to make this a policy and extend such facilitation hereon to all such students whose CBSE board exams may clash with their dates in any national/international sports event. This would include dates of a journey for the particular event that is recognized by the Sports Authority of India (SAI) and the student will be representing India.
All such students should submit their request to the management and the school will forward those to SAI and the CBSE regional office before 31st January of every academic year. The approval will be issued by the regional office before February 5 and the rescheduled exams would be conducted between April 1 and April 15 every year. The circular also stated that students are not permitted to appear along with the CBSE compartment examination as the compartment examination is conducted only for those candidates who got compartment in the main examination.
