About CHAMPIONS Portal
The acronym CHAMPIONS refers to “Creation and Harmonious Application of Modern Processes for Increasing the Output and National Strength”. As a result, the platform’s name is CHAMPIONS. It’s a high – tech control room and information management system. The platform is backed by Artificial Intelligence Technology, Big Data Analytics, as well as Machine Learning, in conjunction with Information and Communication Technology (ICT) tools such as telephony, web, and video conference. It also is seamlessly integrated with the Government of India’s major grievances platform, CPGRAMS, as well as the MSME Ministry’s own web based systems in real time. With the support of the National Informatics Centre (NIC), the full ICT architecture is built in-house at zero cost. Likewise, at one of the ministry’s dumping rooms, the physical infrastructure was built at record speed.

A Hub & Spoke Model is used to establish a network of control centres as components of the system. The Hub is located in the Secretary MSME’s office in New Delhi. The spokes will be stationed across the states at various Ministry offices as well as institutions. As of today, the system has built 66 state-level control rooms. Authorities have been mobilized and training has been performed, according to a detailed operational protocol.

As the name implies, the portal’s main purpose is to help tiny units grow by resolving their problems, encouraging, supporting, assisting, and handholding them. It is a true MSME Ministry one-stop-shop solution. In terms of finance, raw materials, labour, permissions, and other issues, it will assist MSMEs in this difficult situation (of COVID -19). It will also assist companies in capturing new prospects such as the production of medical equipment and products such as PPEs, masks, and other such items. The platform will also allow for the identification of the sparks, or the bright MSMEs that are capable of not only surviving but also becoming domestic and international champions.
