Mini Shukla Support From Family and Friends

Mini Shukla’s sister is a working IPS and her grandfather was an IPS too who retired from the post of ADG in Madhya Pradesh. While her family provided her with enough motivation, the inspiration for joining the civil services came from realising the status of women in Indian society.

“I started preparation from 2018. Took admission in the residential coaching program of Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi. UPSC topper Shruti Sharma was also a batchmate. Got a lot of friends here. Confidence came while preparing among the group of friends. When I started preparing, I used to study for 7-8 hours a day, but gradually, the process of studying for a long time was reduced, paying attention only to revision. Constant discussion with good teachers and friends brought success. Even in the difficulty of covid, online communication with friends helped a lot.”

A Few Tips for UPSC Exam Preparation

  • Make a plan to start studying for the CSE and set aside at least a year to do so.
  • Plan ahead of time: When studying for the UPSC CSE, keep a reasonable and doable study schedule in mind. Making a schedule and tracking your progress toward your goals may also be beneficial.
  • Limit your study materials – jumping from book to book to study for an exam will just confuse you; instead, choose a few books and materials to focus on and stick to them as much as possible.
  • While the internet is a fantastic source of knowledge and study resources, be mindful of becoming too reliant on it owing to the countless distractions.
  • Do not be alarmed: it takes time to build a CSE preparation routine that works for you. Don’t worry if a subject appears difficult and you’re stumped; think about it and you’ll figure out how to grasp the concept.
  • Recognize yourself by doing the following: Identifying one’s personal strengths and weaknesses will assist the aspirant in concentrating his or her preparation efforts. This concentration and comprehension will greatly assist you in personalising each level of preparation to your specific needs.
  • Practice: Before taking the actual test, you should take mock practice tests for both the prelims and mains. This will assist you in developing confidence and experience in effectively phrasing your responses.
