The UPSC conducts many exams every year to recruit people into different services of the government. It conducts the civil services exam (CSE) to recruit officers into the Indian civil services. On clearing the CSE, you can serve in the IAS, IPS, IFS, IFoS, IRS, etc. This article talks about the tentative dates of the UPSC exams (known as the IAS exam in common parlance), its notification, results, etc. are announced.
The UPSC CSE is held in three stages as follows:
Stage 1: UPSC Prelims Exam (2 papers of MCQs)
Stage 2: UPSC Mains Exam (9 papers descriptive)
Stage 3: Personality Test (Board Interview)
Each stage eliminates candidates who could not get the required cut-off marks. From a few lakh candidates who apply to take the prelims, only about a thousand get recruited into service at the end of the process. The whole process itself takes about a year to complete.
