JK PSC Age Limit

The Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) conducts state-level civil service examinations for various Jammu and Kashmir government positions. JKPSC Recruitment includes written examinations (prelims and mains) and a personal interview. The candidates appearing for J&K Combined Competitive Examination has to fulfil the JKPSC Eligibility Criteria mentioned by the commission which include Nationality, Age, and Educational Qualification

Only when a candidate meets all of the requirements, they are eligible to apply for JKPSC recruitment and take the exam.

JKPSC Age Limit

To be eligible for examination, a candidate should satisfy the following criteria:

(i) that the candidate is a permanent resident of the Union Territory and (ii) that they have reached the age of 21 but have not yet reached the age of 37 on January 1st of the year in which the Commission issues a notification which invites applicants.

In the following circumstances, the highest age restriction shall be 39 years:

(a) Reserved category candidates.

(b) Candidates who hold a civil position in the state in the substantive capacity.

Regardless of the category to which such a candidate belongs, the highest age limit for physically disabled applicants shall be 40 years.

Furthermore, a candidate who has completed two years of substantive service on January 1st of the year in which the Commission issues a notification inviting applications in a substantive capacity, as certified by the Head of Department, shall be eligible to claim the benefit of the upper age limit under clause (b) above.

Provided, however, that the Government may impose any alternative higher age limit for open category and reserved category applicants for any particular examination for reasonable and sufficient grounds to be recorded in writing.
